Section 22-401
§ 22-401 Foreign-trade zones. The city is hereby authorized from time
to time to make application to the board established by the act of
congress, approved June eighteenth, nineteen hundred thirty-four,
entitled "An act to provide for the establishment, operation and
maintenance of foreign-trade zones in ports of entry of the United
States, to expedite and encourage foreign commerce, and for other
purposes," for a grant or grants or any extensions thereof to such city
of the privilege of establishing, operating and maintaining a
foreign-trade zone or zones or any extensions thereof in such city,
pursuant to the provisions of such act, and if any such application be
granted, to accept such grant or grants or any extensions thereof and to
establish, operate and maintain any such zone or extension thereof in
accordance with law. The authorization hereby granted shall extend to
and cover any application heretofore made for any such purpose by the
city pursuant to the act of congress hereinbefore described, and to any
amendment of such an application.
